Field Engineer - MSP

A leading Managed Service Provider (MSP], is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Engineer to join their team. They specialize in providing comprehensive IT solutions, with a focus on Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper routers, and switches. 

As a Field Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimization of network infrastructure for our clients infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Network Infrastructure Management:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper routers, and switches for clients.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Conduct regular network audits to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
• Client Support:
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients for network-related issues.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and recommend solutions to enhance network efficiency.
  • Deliver training sessions to clients on the usage and maintenance of network equipment.
• Security Management:
  • Implement and maintain security policies on Palo Alto firewalls to safeguard client networks.
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities, proactively addressing potential risks.
  • Conduct security assessments and recommend enhancements to ensure the integrity of client networks.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Generate regular reports on network performance, security, and uptime for clients and internal use.
• Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the technical support team to escalate and resolve complex issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of network solutions with overall IT infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper routers, and switches.
• Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) and Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) are preferred.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
