Systems Administrator - Managed Service Provider

We are working with leading managed service provider (MSP) dedicated to delivering innovative IT solutions to our clients. Based in New Orleans, they specialize in providing comprehensive network infrastructure, security, and support services to a diverse clientele. They are seeking a talented and experienced Network Engineer to join a dynamic team.

Job Summary:

The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network solutions for clients. The ideal candidate will have experience with Cisco Routing and Switching, Security, and Wireless technologies. Additionally, experience with Fortinet, Ubiquity, and SonicWall products is a huge bonus. The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency working on a number of different network infrastructures. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain Cisco-based networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions.
• Implement and manage network security solutions, including firewall configurations and VPNs.
• Deploy and support Fortinet, Ubiquity, and SonicWall network devices.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Conduct network assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients, addressing and resolving network-related issues.
• Collaborate with other IT professionals and vendors to implement new technologies and solutions.
• Document network configurations, changes, and updates accurately and comprehensively.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in network technologies.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications: CCNA or CCNP certification is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
• Experience:
• Proven experience working as a Network Engineer, preferably in a managed service provider environment.
• Extensive experience with Cisco Routing and Switching, Security, and Wireless technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet, Ubiquity, and SonicWall products.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, and subnetting.
• Proficient in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work on-site in New Orleans, LA.
• Availability for occasional after-hours or weekend work as needed.

Salary: 

• $60,000 - $100,000
