Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build efficient SQL Server databases, both on-premises and in Azure Cloud.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to solve technical and process issues.
- Provide 24/7 operational support for maintaining system reliability.
- Work within an ITIL framework to handle incidents, problems, and changes.
- Develop automation tools to support DevOps teams.
- Research and implement new cloud technologies in collaboration with vendors.
- Work closely with senior staff to tackle technical challenges and develop solutions.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams to design and deliver new operational capabilities.
- Support the sales team with complex solution designs for customer bids.
- Lead the implementation of complex cloud services, integrating company offerings with cloud architectures.
Requirements:
- Hold live NV1 Clearance
- Deep understanding of SQL Server Architecture and a history of driving successful results.
- Expertise in Availability Groups, Mirroring, Log Shipping, and Replication.
- Skilled in SQL Server Security, as well as database migrations to both on-prem and cloud environments.
- Experience with SQL Server on public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google).
- Proficient with Azure SQL Managed Instance and AWS SQL Server RDS.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and Managed Services.
- Proficiency in TSQL, Powershell, and general scripting.
- System Administration skills, including storage and networking knowledge.
- Demonstrated expertise in SQL Server performance tuning and optimization.
