Senior Network Engineer - IT services

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team on-site near Northampton. This role involves managing and optimising their network infrastructure, ensuring its security and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network engineering, particularly with Cisco Firewalls and LAN-focused solutions. The successful candidate must also be eligible for security clearance.

Responsibilities: 

• Project works including design and build new networks as part of various ongoing projects and changes.
• Support resolving incidents and acting as escalation point for network related issues from the team.
• Providing general technical direction to an experienced small network team.
• Working with the team to support and maintain existing networks.

Must Haves: 

• Design, implement, and manage robust network solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Configure and maintain Cisco Firewalls, with a preference for Next Generation Firewalls.
• 7-10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer.
• LAN Focused Experience

Nice to Have: 

• Experience with Extreme Wireless solutions.
• Familiarity with Ruckus Switches.
• Knowledge of VMWare.
• Background in the public sector.

Location:

• On-site near Northampton, with occasional site travel

Salary: 

• Up to £70,000 per annum
