Our client is on a mission to revolutionize connectivity, and we're looking for an exceptional individual to fill the role of Advanced Fiber Optic Technician. Our client is creating a leading national fiber-to-the-home platform, supported by the financial sponsor, CBRE Investment Management. With ambitious plans to reach 500,000 homes and businesses over the next several years, our client provides faster, more reliable internet with a simple pricing model and industry-leading customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Locating, repairing, and maintaining fiber cable services to residences and businesses.
  • Understanding fiber splicing procedures and completing splicing work orders as assigned.
  • Interpreting construction prints and splice schematics.
  • Installing fiber optic connections to homes, businesses, and commercial buildings.
  • Validating and testing end-to-end service provisioning for cable networks.
  • Mentoring and training fellow technicians as directed.
  • Resolving issues at installation and during scheduled service calls.
  • Auditing and inspecting newly completed network construction.
  • Completing work orders and other documentation via paper or electronically.
  • Deploying additional network cabinet/node sites.
  • Providing an exceptional ISP experience to the customer.
  • Notifying dispatch and leaders about issues inhibiting work completion and following through to assist with necessary repairs.

Skills & Experience: 

  • The ability to arrive at work on time and attired in alignment with the company dress code.
  • Proven ability to maintain a clean and hazard-free work vehicle and environment.
  • Advanced TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; required.
  • Vocational school training or apprenticeship; preferred.
  • Valid Class D Driver’s License; required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry materials weighing 40 to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to ride in a vehicle for up to four hours per day while traveling to job locations.
  • Ability to work in different temperatures and changing weather conditions.
  • Ability to traverse and inspect all areas of the job site in all types of weather conditions.
