The leading consultancy firm is looking for a skilled Optimisation Functional Test Consultant to join the team for an initial 6-month contract with the rate signed off inside IR35. Additionally, this role is based in Wokingham, requiring 2-3 days onsite per week.

Responsibilities:

• Engaging with the project team and customer team to support the testing of the Dispatch Algorithm as part of the wider Balancing Transformation Programme.
• Assisting in the quality assurance and development of a state-of-the-art optimisation algorithm, ensuring it meets business and operational requirements.
• Coordinating with functional teams and business stakeholders to review and validate test scenarios, ensuring comprehensive coverage of potential use cases.
• Performing exploratory testing to identify defects, anomalies, and areas for improvement, ensuring the algorithm operates effectively in real-world conditions.
• Supporting the development of automation tools and frameworks to streamline the testing process, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in validation.

Skills/Must have:

• Strong coding skills in Python, with experience in test automation using Python, Java, and Selenium to develop and execute automated test scenarios.
• Experience in solving optimisation problems using various techniques, along with a strong understanding of mathematical programming solvers for LP, QP, MIP (MILP, MIQP, MIQCP) problems. Hands-on experience with Gurobi Optimiser is highly desirable.
• Ability to develop custom data models and algorithms to analyse large datasets, ensuring the optimisation algorithm is accurately validated. Proficiency in statistical computing languages such as Python for data manipulation and insight generation.
• Strong experience in exploratory testing to identify defects, improve system performance, and validate algorithmic outputs in real-world scenarios.
