As an NOC Engineer, you'll play a critical role in their Network Operations Center (NOC), monitoring and troubleshooting network issues to ensure optimal performance for our customers. You'll work collaboratively with a team of skilled professionals to identify, diagnose, and resolve network incidents, minimizing downtime and maintaining service continuity.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose and troubleshoot a pan-European MPLS infrastructure and range of Optical and Ethernet services against product SLAs up to 3rd-level support.
- Very good knowledge or experience with the connection to optical and Ethernet-based networks is an advantage
- Extensive knowledge of customer-specific networks and services
- Providing a professional interface to customers as a one-stop shop for all their problems
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with key partners and manufacturers
- Manage and coordinate tasks with field service or 3rd-level support
- Clear and accurate record of what happened during a fault period and regular updates as needed using Colt's fault management system
- Fix or escalate bugs according to product SLAs
- Identify, plan and implement solutions to recurring problems in Optical and Ethernet networks.
- Generating technical reports for customers upon request
- Technical management of software upgrades in coordination with the vendors and Colt teams involved
Essential requirements (Skills, Experience, Qualifications)
- Excellent understanding/work experience of MSP, Ethernet, DWDM systems: implementation, commissioning, maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Experience with network management via GUI and CLI
- Experience with some of the following providers and their associated network elements: ADVA, Ciena, Accedian, Infinera, Nokia, Nortel
- Experience in a Telecom/IT Helpdesk environment, as well as experience working with Global Network Providers, NOC and Field Engineers for technical deployments
- Experience working in a team environment with full responsibility for troubleshooting. With a high willingness to take personal responsibility, coordinate with internal and external teams and lead to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Excellent customer and service-oriented communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to quickly learn and implement technical information and make decisions quickly and efficiently
- German (fluent, at least C1).
- English (communicative level, at least B1)
Good to have:
- Experience with Layer 3 services and technologies
- Understanding of IP basics and various protocols, working experience implementing, diagnosing and troubleshooting IP, MPLS and VPN solutions in a pan-European network
- Experience with ITIL
