Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management and optimisation of Checkpoint Firewall infrastructure, ensuring robust security, high availability, and optimal performance across the organisation's critical networks.
  • Proactively monitor, analyse, and resolve complex Firewall and security incidents, identifying potential vulnerabilities and implementing advanced threat mitigation strategies.
  • Design, implement, and fine-tune Firewall policies and rule sets, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and enterprise security frameworks.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Firewall security, providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional IT and security teams.
  • Oversee large-scale network security projects, including Firewall upgrades, migrations, and integrations within a complex, high-traffic enterprise environment.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including security architectures, Firewall configurations, and change management records, ensuring an audit-ready environment.
  • Support and enhance LAN/WAN infrastructure, leveraging deep expertise in routing, switching, and network performance optimisation to maintain a resilient and secure enterprise network.

Skills/Must have:

  • Extensive hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting Checkpoint Firewalls, including policy optimisation, rule set management, and performance tuning.
  • Deep understanding of network security principles, including Firewall rules, VPNs, intrusion prevention, threat mitigation, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong expertise in LAN/WAN networking, including routing, switching, VLANs, and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle complex security incidents and network challenges in high-pressure situations.
  • Industry certifications such as Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, or Cisco CCNA/CCNP are highly advantageous.
