Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical support for retail sites, including POS systems, hardware (printers, scanners, handhelds), and back-office PCs, ensuring smooth sales transactions and system functionality.
  • Handle help requests efficiently, prioritize issues, and escalate to senior technicians when needed, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Assist with POS software updates, deployments, and staff training, while troubleshooting and maintaining POS and back-office applications.
  • Perform on-site visits across the Caribbean for critical issues, system upgrades, and new location installations.
  • Collaborate with vendors on hardware warranty claims, repairs, and software updates, ensuring system integration and data integrity.
  • Document common issues and solutions to create a knowledge base and provide regular reports to the regional IT manager on support activities and system performance.
  • Contribute to a diverse, inclusive team culture, adapting to daily challenges and maintaining a high standard of customer service.


Required Skills:

  • Proficient in MECM/SCCM, Patching, Automation, Cloud Deployment, and Service Desk Support.
  • 3+ years of experience in POS support, IT support, or a similar role, ideally within the retail or hospitality industry.
  • Previous experience supporting field operations and working with back-office applications is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in Office 365 environments.
  • Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM)/ Mobile Application Management (MAM) platforms such as Intune
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices, SLA Targets, Escalation Procedures, and Queue Management.
  • Competence in image installation, configuration, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Service-oriented approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Android and Apple iOS operations and troubleshooting.
  • Operational experience in an organization working in the oil and gas industry or other large-user base infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and hardware (e.g., card readers, printers, scanners).
  • Familiarity with back-office software for retail operations, inventory, and sales reporting.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, network connectivity, and basic software issues.
