Join a leading UK-based building society as a Financial Crime Optimisation Consultant. This exciting role involves an initial 6-month contract with a strong potential for extension beyond 12 months. The position is signed off inside IR35 and requires occasional travel to the office in Bradford.
As a Financial Crime Optimisation Consultant, you will be at the forefront of enhancing the effectiveness of transaction monitoring and financial crime systems. Your primary responsibilities will include optimizing detection scenarios, refining alert thresholds, and ensuring alignment with evolving financial crime risks.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and communicate often complex data and analytical solution to wider department ensuring transfer of key findings to inform business changes and risk mitigation
- Work with multiple risk types - AML (Anti-Money Laundering), Fraud and ABC (Anti-Bribery and Corruption), to lead complex analysis.
- Optimize detection scenarios to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of transaction monitoring systems.
- Fine-tune alert thresholds to balance the need for accurate detection with a reduction in the false positives.
- Implement best practices and strategies to enhance the performance and capabilities of financial crime systems.
Skills/Must have:
- Proven experience in financial crime risk management, particularly in transaction monitoring and system optimisation.
- Strong understanding of financial crime detection systems and the ability to refine and optimize these tools.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret data, refine detection scenarios, and adjust alert thresholds.
- Understanding of both the risk and technical aspects of financial crime controls relating to customer screening and transaction monitoring.
