Responsibilities:
- Ensure all environmental legislation is adhered to, including maintaining the ISO 14001 EMS and aligning with ESG reporting requirements.
- Develop and lead the implementation of the Carbon Reduction Plan, ensuring alignment with UK Government targets.
- Manage carbon reduction projects, write compelling business cases, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive sustainability outcomes.
- Analyze energy and environmental data to identify opportunities for improvement, providing regular performance updates to all business levels.
- Create and maintain a waste matrix for improved reporting and ensure proper control, disposal, and documentation of hazardous waste.
- Drive EMS improvements using the Plan-Do-Check-Act model to align with global and national sustainability goals, including GHG reductions and waste management.
- Support business development teams with the ‘fighting climate change’ agenda to enhance bidding and client engagement processes.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Proficient in maintaining and enhancing an ISO 14001-certified EMS.
- Demonstrated ability to define and implement net-zero strategies.
- Experience in analyzing environmental data and ESG reporting.
- Understanding of UK and EU environmental schemes such as ESOS, SECR, CRFD, and CSDDD.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in improving waste reporting and handling hazardous materials.
- Background in energy efficiency and sustainable energy practices.
