Our client is a global systems integrator and they're looking for a DevOps Engineer for an initial 6-month contract based in Central London with some aspects of remote.
The DevOps Engineer will serve as a bridge between development and operations teams to ensure efficient, automated, and scalable deployment of applications and infrastructure.
This role includes managing CI/CD pipelines, automating operations, and ensuring the system’s reliability, security, and scalability.
Contract Details:
- Duration: 6 months (possible extension)
- Day Rate: £450 per day (Inside IR35)
- Location: London, hybrid - (3 days onsite)
- Start Date: ASAP – quick hiring process
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins for automated deployment and testing.
- Use GitHub Actions and AWS to host services, set up testing environments, and monitor performance.
- Create and maintain CLI scripts to automate tasks, run tests, and track infrastructure health.
- Collaborate with the development team to improve deployment processes and support secure, stable releases.
- Apply process reengineering to continuously enhance our development workflows
Skills & Experience:
- Deep expertise in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and container orchestration.
- Experience with Shell/CLI and Python scripting to build automation tools and utilities for engineering processes.
- Proficiency with AWS services, including but not limited to ALB, ELB, EC2, ECR, CloudFront, S3, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElasticCache, Lambda, CloudWatch, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, Step Functions, Route53, EFS, Secrets Manager, VPC, API Gateway, IAM, and Security Groups.
- Strong understanding and application of agile principles, including collaboration, InnerSource, adaptability to change, and iterative delivery of customer value.
- Skilled in incident management and uptime monitoring.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack.
- Solid foundation in networking, system security, and data management.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to system maintenance.
