The leading consultancy firm is looking for a skilled Data Modeller on a 6 month contract to design and refine data models to support crucial Business Intelligence and analytics functions. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring two days per week onsite in London. The position is confirmed as inside IR35.

Responsibilities:

  • Involve business users in identifying and documenting their data and information requirements.
  • Analyse business processes to identify and model key entities and their relationships.
  • Design entity-relationship diagrams to map the connections and properties of each entity.
  • Develop a logical data model, validating it to ensure it meets business needs.
  • Convert the logical data model into a physical representation and work with database administrators to implement and maintain it.
  • Partner with BI and Analytics teams to create a reusable semantic model that includes metadata and lineage information.
  • Keep metadata - the data about the data - current to reflect the model's structure and semantics.
  • Recommend and implement data model design standards, guidelines, and maintenance procedures.


Skills/Must have:

  • Proficiency in industry-standard data modelling methodologies.
  • Strong teamwork, consultative, and consensus-building skills.
  • Proven expertise in developing and managing relational databases in a corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience creating models for Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, data profiling, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling methodologies, along with facilitation and dispute resolution techniques.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and solutions.
