Data Centre Engineer - Systems Integrator

They are seeking a skilled professional with 5-7 years of experience to join the team on a 6-month contract, starting as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform hardware installations, including servers, switches, routers, and storage devices, ensuring seamless integration into the data centre environment.
• Continuously monitor data centre performance, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure uptime through proactive maintenance.
• Physically install and secure hardware components, including servers, network devices, and power distribution units (PDUs), following best practices for airflow and cable management.
• Configure and maintain network switches, ensuring optimal data flow and connectivity across the infrastructure.
• Install, terminate, and test CAT5 & CAT6 network cabling, ensuring proper labeling, routing, and compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to support ongoing operations and audits.
• Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT teams to support data centre projects and resolve issues efficiently.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health, safety, and security guidelines, including handling equipment safely and maintaining a tidy workspace.
