Cloud Platform Engineer - Consultancy

They are currently seeking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join the team! This role would entail leading the design, development, and maintenance of the cutting-edge cloud platform.

Responsibilities: 

• Lead the evolution of our cloud platform by implementing innovative solutions that drive scalability, security, and performance.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure is secure, adhering to industry best practices for security, compliance, and governance.
• Oversee the support and upkeep of production and non-production environments, ensuring smooth operations and minimal downtime.
• Work closely with application and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of their applications.
• Handle high-severity production issues escalated by the operations team and provide swift resolutions.
• Bring ideas to the table! Help shape the future of the cloud platform by recommending new technologies and strategies for continuous improvement.

Required Skills/ Qualifications: 

• Strong understanding of Linux and/or Windows, including how they work, boot processes, services, logging, and distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Proficient in AWS and/or Azure services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, and more. 
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation/CDK is highly desirable.
• Solid knowledge of networking principles including IP addressing, routing, TCP/UDP protocols, firewalls, and network security.
• Basic to advanced knowledge in languages such as Python, Ruby, GoLang, Rust, and Bash scripting. 
• Familiarity with web frameworks and REST APIs.
• Proficient in SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and schema building. 
• Understanding of ORMs and database management.
• In-depth knowledge of TLS encryption, public/private key infrastructure (PKI), and hands-on experience with OpenSSL for troubleshooting secure connections.
• Experience with Ansible, Packer, Git, and basic troubleshooting across cloud environments. 
• Knowledge of cloud security feature delivery and ITIL/SRE principles.

Desired Skills/Qualifications: 

• Advanced AWS or Azure services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, CodePipeline, Step Functions, etc.)
• Agile methodology and leading teams across multiple time zones.
• Familiarity with Cisco routing protocols and network configurations such as NAT, access lists, and BGP.
