The role of Audio Visual Control Systems Programmer (AV Programmer) serves a multifaceted role, primarily responsible for programming and testing various control systems, including Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC, and Biamp, as well as programming audio DSP systems. The AV Programmer will ensure systems function correctly and will adjust and troubleshoot as necessary. Additionally, the AV Programmer will work closely with project teams and clients to ensure seamless integration and operation of AV systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Participate in project kickoffs to coordinate and develop a successful programming plan.
  • Support and mentor technicians assigned to projects, enhancing their installation and troubleshooting skills.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting and commissioning of AV systems.
  • Program and configure control systems including Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC, and Biamp.
  • Program audio DSP systems from manufacturers such as Biamp, QSC, and BSS, including setup, testing, tuning, and adjustment.
  • Upload and test control code on-site, making adjustments as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with field technicians or manufacturers for real-time troubleshooting.
  • Maintain communication with customers, co-workers, and manufacturers for project updates, troubleshooting, commissioning, and training.
  • Assist with site evaluations, testing, and troubleshooting alongside Account Managers, Engineers, and Programmers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in AV installation and programming is required.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard practices and installation techniques is essential.
  • Certifications such as InfoComm CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, NSCA C-EST, AQAV CQT, or related manufacturer certifications are preferred.

 Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret system documentation, including manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and project information in English.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

 Mathematical Skills:

  • Basic high school level math and geometry skills are required.

 Reasoning Ability:

  • Advanced analytic and reasoning skills to recognize potential problems and overcome obstacles during system installation.

 Computer Skills:

  •  Intermediate skills in word processing, email, and web access.
  • Ability to program and adjust audio DSP files.
  • Strong IP connectivity and configuration knowledge.

Salary:

  • $80,000 - $100,000
