Network Engineer - IT Consultancy

We are currently seeking a talented Network Engineer to join an IT Solutions Provider in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cisco Routing and Switching, Security, Wireless technologies, and experience with Cisco ISE (this is a bonus).

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure solutions based on Cisco Routing and Switching technologies.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Deploy and manage wireless networks utilizing Cisco wireless technologies.
• Administer Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and policy enforcement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network security policies and procedures.
• Perform network capacity planning and optimization to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Conduct regular network performance monitoring and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in networking and security to make recommendations for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• CCNA or CCNP certification is required.
• Minimum of [5] years of experience working as a Network Engineer, preferably in a Cisco environment.
• Strong proficiency in Cisco Routing and Switching technologies.
• Experience with Cisco Security solutions such as ASA firewalls, Cisco AnyConnect, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco wireless technologies (e.g., Cisco Aironet, Cisco Meraki).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control.
• Solid understanding of network protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and DNS.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CCIE certification is a plus.
• Experience with other networking vendors such as Juniper, Palo Alto, or Aruba.
• Knowledge of cloud networking technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Salary: 

• $70,000 - $120,000
